Our Story: From a Vision to a Legacy
AMOR began with a simple, audacious prayer from two American pastors, Darrell and Darlene Dakin: to see God move in the heart of Honduras. In 2005, that prayer became a lifetime commitment. The Dakins moved to rural Honduras, trading the familiar for the mission field. They didn’t just build a medical clinic and a community center; they built a family.
Today, the torch has been passed to the next generation. AMOR is now led by Ever and Gladis, Darrell and Darlene’s adopted children. What began as a cross-border mission has become a homegrown movement, led by those who call this land home.
Our Mission: Love in Action
Honduras is a land of incredible beauty, but it faces staggering challenges. With more than half the population living in poverty, we believe that "loving your neighbor" means showing up where it matters most.
We serve the people of Honduras by holistically improving their quality of life. From the dinner table to the job site, we are on the ground through:
Vital Nutrition: Feeding programs for those in need.

Our Home: Freedom Ranch
Nestled near the breath-taking Ocotal Mountain just outside of Talanga, Freedom Ranch is the heart of our operations.
More than just a building, the Ranch is a 22-guest mission house and vibrant community center. It is a place of connection where we host visiting teams, hold local conventions, and coordinate the outreach that changes lives every day.
